Introduction

This UNIT is established in DHQ hospital, Faisalabad and consists of 40 beds. Head of SU - V: Dr Muhammad Rehman Gulzar (FCPS) Associate professor of Surgery, FMU Faisalabad Assistant Professor: Dr Muhammad Nasir ( FCPS )

11 post graduate residents serve in 3 emergencies and OPD duties each week. Emergency surgical cover on Sundays is provided on alternate basis with Surgical Unit - IV.
Procedures
A wide variety of laparoscopic and open General surgery procedures including laparoscopic cholecystectomy, colorectal surgery, thyroidectomy, parotidectomy, hernia repair, cancer surgery and some urological procedures like pyelolithotomy and nephrectomy etc on elective and emergency basis.
This healthcare facility provides medical care to patients coming from a wide area of the province mainly Faisalabad and Sargodha divisions and is a famous medical facility in the area.
