Department of Surgery consists
of four Surgical Units. Three of them are in Allied Hospital and
one in DHQ Hospital. Details of each unit is given below.
Prof. Dr.
Javed Iqbal is
Incharge of
Surgical Unit III.
Surgical ward (Surgical Unit-III) is a teaching unit of Allied
Hospital affiliated with Punjab Medical College Faisalabad. It
has 60 beds which are further divided into Emergency, Critical
Care, Laparoscopic and Septic bays.

This Unit
has State of the Art training and teaching for undergraduate and
postgraduate students. It provides an ideal, friendly and
co-operative environment to the fellows to refine and upgrade
their knowledge in General, Plastic, Reconstructive and Advanced
Laparoscopic procedures and procedures like Thymectomies and
Oesophagectomies in which this unit specializes. This unit has
the unique honor that its postgraduate students pass their
examinations in the country and abroad at their earliest. This
unit is recognized for FCPS and MRCS training.
Surgical
Unit IV is 120 bedded teaching unit of Punjab Medical College
situated at DHQ Hospital Faisalabad. Prof. Dr. Sajid Sheikh, is
the head of the unit. This unit has a dedicated team of
competent, energetic and hard working doctors.
This
unit has got the distinct honor of training 20 postgraduates for
their FCPS and FRCS / MRCS and one for Masters in Surgery.
Continued medical education is an important feature of this
unit. In this respect we hold regular small group discussions,
clinico-pathological presentations and seminars with objectives
of professional development, and improved patient care.
