With the beat of the drum, the morning of the 4th May 2006 dawned the long awaited day! This day had been getting delayed for the last month so its arrival was welcomed with even more enthusiasm.
The Annual Sports
Day was to be held, as the ritual goes, in the Stadium, which was today
flooding with colors. All the classes from 1st to Final year
had decorated their assigned areas beautifully. Every one aimed to be
the best. The colors allotted were: First years. Blue Second year ...Pink Third year. Orange Fourth year Red Final Year. Purple The students arrived wearing their respective colors. They presented the picture of a rainbow under the bright glittering sun. The program started officially at 9:30 am with the arrival of the chief guest Prof. A.G Rehan. Then the students of fourth year made their fabulous entry on auto rickshaws. It gave the audience a good chance of laughing (in praise). The third years chose a house cart and a donkey cart for this purpose. The event was mostly distributing trophies and shields amongst the winners of the different games held during the previous month. Fourth year and Final year took the lead in winning with the third year following closely behind. The first years also succeeded in winning a decent number of prizes. It was not left behind in this competition. The first years also won the trophy of Best Supporting class for the inauguration day. There were few trophies amongst the second year. There were also small entertaining segments which doubled the fun of the after noon.
Basketball throw and musical chair for girls and 50 m race for male teachers was especially a great source of enjoyment for the audience. The beat of the drum and the Bhangra of the boys remained very dominant throughout the after noon. Girls were no less. They cheered the winners by singing and waving their pom pons. Considering the stifling heat prevailing at that time, the students were served cold drinks. Lunch boxes were also distributed at the and of the function. To sum up, this annual day is a good effort to evoke a sense of encouragement amongst the students, also the staff and the organizers put in a lot of effort and beget to provides us this fare entertainment. We are really thank full to them
