Inauguration of Annual
Sports 2010

Its been a tradition of PMC to celebrate sports week
every year for the mental and physical development of students and to
encourage the students who have excellence not
only in academics but also in sports. It provides a healthy platform to the
students to lessen their load of study and to
make their minds fresh for the tough schedule ahead. 26th of
January, 2010 at 1:00 pm there was inauguration of
the most awaited event of the year that is the sports week. The ceremony
took place in the College auditorium with the
arrival of the Chief Guest
, Worthy Principal Prof. Dr. Riaz Hussain Dab
along with Chief organizer Prof. Dr. Zahid Iqbal, Assistant organizer Dr.
Mehdi Raza and Prof. Dr. Main Farooq Ahmed , Prof. Dr. Tasneem cheema ,
Prof. Dr. Rasool Ahmad Chaudhary and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali Tirmizi.
The guests were warmly welcomed by the students
and then the Director of Physical Education , Mr. J.A.Shahbaz
officially welcomed the guests and threw light on the importance of sports
and athletics in our daily life. Then the
microphone was handed to the Sports Secretary Mr.Talha (Final Year) and
Sports Secretary from Girls Miss Mouezza Samar
(Final Year). After that Zaman Malik (3rd year) was called on
stage for recitation of the Holy Quran. It was
followed by Naat by Asma hafeez (4th
year). Then both the sports secretaries told about the problems of students
relating to facilities of sports and games in college and hostel. They
demanded a common room for girls equipped with indoor games facility for the
better time pass for female students.
Then Awais Saeed Abbasi (Final year)
gave a detailed introduction about the sports committee and the various
clubs like Cricket club, Football
club, Hockey club, Badminton
club, Cycling club, Volleyball
club, Athletic club and Indoor
games club. Chief organizer Prof. Dr. Zahid Iqbal
was then invited on stage to bless the students with his
words. He ensured the students to provide them with maximum facilities.
Principal, Prof. Dr. Riaz Hussain Dab
then came on stage and addressed the students.
After these proceedings were over
the 1st game of the sports week was played that was table tennis
match in the Examination Hall between Prof. Dr .Mian Farooq and Prof. Dr.
Rasool Ahmad Chaudhry. They got a very warm backup from students. The match
was won by Prof. Dr. Mian Farooq and then he played a match with student.
With this the ceremony came to an end.
