8th Convocation PMC

On 18th
of May, 2011 8th convocation of PMC took place.
Principal, Punjab Medical College Prof. Dr. Riaz
Hussain received the Chief Guest Mr. Rana Sanaullah (Law
Minister Punjab), Mr. Tahir Hussain (Commissioner Faisalabad)
and Prof. Dr. Malik Hussain Mubasshir (Vice Chancellor UHS). The
academic procession entered the hall in pairs according to
seniority, in reverse order. The Chief Guest and others took
their seats on stage.
The convocation was preceded by Tilawat-e-Quran
along with translation by Hafiz Muhammad Yasin (3rd
year). Madiha Hafeez (3rd year) was called on stage
for Naat. National Anthem was played and then Prof. Dr. Tasneem
Cheema (Chairman 8th Convocation) asked the Principal
to request the Vice Chancellor to declare the Convocation open.
The Vice Chancellor declared it open. Then the Principal
requested the Vice Chancellor to administer the “OATH” to new
Graduates.
After taking oath, Prof. Dr. Tasneem
Cheema requested the Principal for opening address. The
Principal delivered the address saying that our college results
are getting better with every passing year and all the credit
goes to the Medical faculty and our industrious Graduates. He
also mentioned some of the important achievements of PMC in
academics and co-curricular activities.
Principal’s address was followed by Vice
Chancellor’s address. He congratulated the students on their
achievements. He further encouraged the students to show the
same vigour and responsibilities for their country as they do
for their profession. Vice Chancellor’s address was followed by
distribution of awards and medals to the position and
distinction holders and best graduates for the session 2007-2008
and 2008-2009.
Prof. Dr.Tasneem Cheema requested the
Chief Guest Mr. Rana Sanaullah for his address. He ensured the
students that they would be awarded for their hard work. And
appreciated the efforts of young doctors. The Vice Chancellor
was requested to declare the 8th Convocation close.
In the end souvenirs of PMC were awarded
to the Chief Guest Mr. Rana SanaUllah (Minister of Law, Govt. of
Punjab), Prof. Dr. Malik Hussain Mubasshir (Vice Chancellor UHS),
Prof. Dr. Riaz Hussain Dab (Principal PMC), Prof. Dr. Tasneem
Cheema (Chairman Organizing Committee), Prof. Dr. M Ali Tirmizi
(Chairman Organizing Committee 7th convocation), Dr.
Khalid Mahmood and Mr. Basharat. Then academic procession left
the auditorium. Latter on the graduates had a group photo with
the Chief Guest, Vice Chancellor and the Principal. It was
followed by refreshment.
