of Sports Week 2011

Opening ceremony
of sports week was held on 16 March 2011 under the patron ship of
Professor Riaz Hussain Dubb, Principal Punjab Medical College and
Professor Mehdi Raza Rizvi ,Chairman of sports society.
On the much
awaited day. The PMC stadium wore a festive look as each class’s
allocated area was embellished according to their specific colors,
depicting exuberant themes in a magnificent way. First year MBBS
in yellow celebrated spring festival. Flower arrangement with a
touch of basant made their efforts appraisable. Second year MBBS
successfully presented their discriminating theme of graveyard in
blue. Witches and demons claded in exquisite blue hooded costumes
entered the ground and made a remarkable impression on the
cheering crowd.
In ravishing
red,3rd year MBBS students entered and proceeded to
their enclosure which was adorned in synchronization of coke
studio. Guitars, flutes and drums depicted the theme skillfully
and impelled everyone to dance on the symphony of the coke studio.
With the theme of Action replay and purple color, 4th
year MBBS entered the stadium ground, with the boys dancing on the
beat of an old memorable song and girls walking gracefully,
representing elegant ladies from 1970’s.they were well applauded
by the excited crowd who loudly approved their groovy taste. Next
the BDS in black, dressed like graduated students on a day of
Convocation, made their elegant entry and won a huge round of
cheering from other classes. walking in the ground with
convocation caps and gowns with degrees in their hands ,they
indeed presented their exclusive theme marvelously. And indeed the
crowd stood up for the champions as final year MBBS made their
move in the ground of stadium in green. Waves of patriotism arose
and settled in every heart as the desire to won world cup erupted
with final year’s entry. the imitable theme of world cup revived
the true spirit of patriotism as final year visited each class,
holding Pakistani flags as high as their souring spirits.
Principal Professor Riaz Hussain dub arrived and visited each
class and posed pictures with each class to imprint the Cheri
sable memories forever.
According to the
tradition of PMC, the well anticipated cricket match of teachers
against final year students started with the toss that was won by
the teachers. Highly enthusiastic Teachers and students played
ardently and high spirited spectators cheered them. Teachers
looked quite adorable in sports t shirts and caps and the
wholeheartedness they played with showed that participation in
sports is not specified to a special age group. The match was won
by the teachers and celebrated by everyone. Thus a colorful day
ended with excitement and calendar of PMC was marked with another
successful event.
