This prospectus is an introduction
to the various Government Medical Colleges in the Punjab, Pakistan.
It contains rules and regulations concerning administration, admissions
and examinations etc. The prospectus is revised yearly to update
the changes. The prospectus and related information is also available
on Internet (Web Page: http://www.kemc.edu).
1. The rules in this prospectus
shall apply to all the Punjab Government Medical Colleges namely:-
i) King Edward Medical College, Lahore.
ii) Fatima Jinnah Medical College, Lahore.
iii) Nishtar Medical College, Multan.
iv) Quaid-e-Azam Medical College, Bahawalpur.
v) Punjab Medical College, Faisalabad.
vi) Rawalpindi Medical College, Rawalpindi.
vii) Allama Iqbal Medical College, Lahore.
viii) Services Institute of Medical Sciences, Lahore.
ix) Sialkot Medical College, Sialkot
x) Sheikh Zayed Medical College, Rahim Yar Khan.
2. All the above colleges are being maintained by the
Government of Punjab and are under the administrative control
of Health Department.
3. All the colleges after a Five Year Study course lead
to the M.B.B.S. Degree of the University to which they are affiliated.
4. There is co-education in all the colleges except
in Fatima Jinnah Medical College, where only females are admitted.
5. One or more hospitals are attached to each medical
college for imparting clinical teaching to the students. The clinical
professors/associate professors/ assistant professors of the colleges
are also consultants to the attached teaching hospitals.
6. Students on the roll of these colleges shall be
bound to abide by the rules and regulations as laid down in this
prospectus and such changes issued by Government of the Punjab,
from time to time.
7. Government of the Punjab, reserves the right of
additions and alterations of any rule in the prospectus at any
stage.
This prospectus is issued with the approval of the Government
of the Punjab.
