The department of Physiological sciences started its working in
1973. The beginning of this department was in a very limited
space provided by the Punjab Government in Agricultural
University of Faisalabad. The pioneer head of the department was
a giant personage of the subject Professor Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed.
Later on a reknown Physiologist of American medical society
Professor Dr. Nasir A. Bashir replaced him when the former
personality became Professor of Biochemistry.
Since 1995 the department of Physiology is headed by Professor
Dr. Tasneem Cheema, MBBS, MD. This department was shifted in
1982 to the present place.

A smooth student –
teacher relationship is the motto of this department. The
department is equipped with sophisticated lab. instruments for
the under graduate and postgraduate students. The department has
such new scientific devices as power lab Audiometers
computerized, spirometers, treadmill, highly sophisticated ECC &
ergometers etc. The power lab is a real research facilitator
instrument with provision of EEG, EMG, ECG Nerve conduction
velocity & seconding of evoke potential. Many research projects
have been completed and a great many projects are on way of
completion.
The teachers deliver the lectures on audiovisual instruments
along with the most modern device, multimedia. Computer and
internet facility is available in the department along with
departmental library. The department is supervised by Dr. Zafar
Hussain, Associate Professor in the absence of Professor Dr.
Tasneem Cheema. He is the teacher with 10 volumes of MCQ’s
manuscripts on his credit along with two practical manuals.
