On Tuesday,17th
March ’09, yet another glorious and memorable get together of
Netizens was held at The Chenab Club Faisalabad. The event was
graced by the presence of the Principal of PMC, Prof. Dr. Riaz
Hussain Dab (Head Of Surgery Department), The Head of ENT II Dr.
Syed Muhammad Ali Tirmizi and the Head of Psychiatry & Behavioral
Sciences and The President of Netizens Dr. Imtiaz Ahmad Dogar,
himself.
The usual agenda of
the meeting was to welcome the new members of 1st year to the
society and provide to them an inspiration from the previous senior members
of what they could do for themselves and Netizens and how they could
channelize their work to achieve the best for PMC.
The meeting took its
kick off with a brilliant presentation headed by the 4th year Co-ordinator
and Webmaster Zain-ur-Rehman. The college website along-with the general
outline of Netizens was talked about. The Presentation was prepared by M
Omer Waqar (4th year). Dr. Imtiaz Ahmad Dogar briefed the concept
of the society and mentioned the names of the pioneer members. This as usual
was followed by the feedback of the members of all five years started off by
1st year girl named Faaria, spoke about why she wanted to be part
of such an illustrious society and told everyone what expectations she had
from Netizens. This was followed by 2nd year’s Zaman Malik who
shared his experiences of the previous whole year and expressed his
happiness to be a member of Netizens. Then Ali Alvi, the 3rd Year
Co-ordinator told everyone about the future projects to be held this year,
such as The Mental Health Day and Anti-Narcotics Day and also mentioned the
aspirations of the society towards holding occasions based on Art & Culture.
He also mentioned the publications that would be coming out throughout the
year i.e The Newsletter, Voice of PMC & Anastomosis. Atiqa Mehmood and
Nafisa Ehsan, members of 4th year highlighted the bright sides of
the society and suggested methods for further improvement. Finally, from
final year the Chief Co-ordinator Tamim Tahir generally summarized what was
spoken about and gave a touching account of his experiences throughout his 5
years as a member and mentioned how much he was going to miss the society
when he would pass out from college.
At the end our
respected guests said some kind words and appreciated the efforts made by
the society. Prof. Dr. Syed M Ali Tirmizi told that he was an avid visitor
of the website and appreciated how regularly it was updated and that the
links provided were relevant and of great use to the students. Dr. Riaz
Hussain Dabb, after giving a very inspiring speech and acknowledging what
Netizens has done for the college, gave guidance to the members of how to
achieve the best in life in a very enthusiastic gesture that summoned
undoubtful applause. He also promised to fulfil a few demands of the
society, laid down by Awais Saeed Abbasi form 4th year.
After this, lunch was
proceeded, followed up by the annual photographic session, ending the
delightful event.
