    Netizens is the name of web developing society of Punjab Medical College. Netizens is working for the development and maintenance of college website.

      Currently Netizens is working under the guidance of doctors and staff members. Principal of College Prof. Dr. Ch. Asghar Ali is Chief Patron of society and Prof. Riaz Hussain is Patron while Dr. Imtiaz Ahmad Dogar is President of Netizens. Prof. Riaz Hussain is the one who made all the efforts to make college website official.

    Office barrier is held by Staff members and Students. Post of Chief Patron is held by the college Principal while Patron and President is also from teaching staff and rest of the posts are held by highly hardworking students. An advisory board is also established from the teaching staff.

     College website was first developed in 2000 and was first appeared on the web world in August 2000. Originally website was developed by 4 college students Usman Mushtaq, Haseeb Ikram, Jahanzeb Khan and Salman Majeed then it was made official by the academic council in June 2001 and Netizens which was first working without any support was then declared as official society which will work for the promotion of IT in college and will also take care matters of college website.

Describing about website, one can briefly go through the website concerning information about PMC, DHQ & Allied Hospitals. Detailed information of each department along with the pictures of its Head of department & group photos of teachers / doctors has also been provided. All the information regarding admissions, prospectus, and entry test is also given in detail. A visitor can easily go through the procedure of admissions in medical colleges of Punjab. Regarding PMC whole details about Campus, Library, College Societies (Netizens, Literary Society, PMRC etc.) is given. Another very important section is the PMC Alumini, in which we have updated the names of almost all students from first batch (1979) till year 2000 and also collecting further data by online data collection form.

       The other section of site has latest updates concerning college News, events, Interviews, Articles, Poetry, PMC Picture Gallery, PMC Sports Gallery, PMC convocation Gallery and much more. Moreover there is more emphasis on examination schedules, results, UHS notifications etc. The college co-curricular activities especially sports, literary society activities and college magazine PARWAZ etc. have always been given extensive coverage. Any change in college faculty, provision of new services, opening of new departments are also published in the website. Any clinical conference / workshop / symposium organized by any deptt. of the college are also part of the updates.

           Now for helping students in their studies, we have provided lectures of most of the teachers in college and have given numerous links to websites for online study. For entertaining the students their is a entertainment section also.

        Another milestone in the history of PMC was launching the Newsletter” The Voice of PMC” . Five issues have been published and the 6^th is in press. This  newsletter covers different topics like any updates in medical field, religious section, cartoons, short essays from students, poetry, fun section and messages etc. such sort of activities provide the students opportunity to ventilate and express their feelings. They also learn the art of team work.

An advisory board for the Netizens (newsletter section) is also established from the teaching staff.

        “Anastomosis” is yet another trendsetting milestone from the platform of Netizens through the efforts of the First and Second Year students. The basic idea of “Anastomosis” is of a gazette bringing you the upcoming events in the college and also in the world around to lessen the study melancholy. It contains selected college events, articles, jokes, messages from faculty members, caricature and the most important of all the monthly planner which includes the dates of main class tests which we are quite sure will become an important component of study tables.

      In future, we want to work more fronts and we want that this website should play a pivotal role in promoting the image of the college as well as it should be of great help to those students of the college who are sitting away/ abroad so that whenever they feel, they can contact. And with the help of college admin, website cab be a great source of help to students, their parents, college faculty members, doctors of the both affiliated hospitals, medical community of the FSD and medical related personals organizations of Pakistan and abroad.
