Medical
Unit-III is a teaching unit of Allied Hospital, Punjab Medical
College. It is imparting educational legalities to undergraduate
and postgraduate students of Medicine. Dr. Ahmad Bilal (Professor of Medicine) is the head of the unit. Dr. Ghazanfar Sindhu, Dr. Faraz Saeed Qureshi and Dr. Ghazala Khalid
are senior registrars. There are fourteen medical officers and
fifiteen house officers in this unit.
RESEARCH
WORK
We have
recently completed a multicentred trial conducted in 5 countries
results of which are being analyzed.
Following
projects are ongoing:
M-III in collaboration with All Pakistan Diabetic and Endocrine
Society has organized a 09 days programme on
Diabetes for first time in history of Pakistan. M-III has
organized pt annual diabetics and endocrine conference on 26th August,2006. Following research projects are
under study in the unit.
1. Involvement of Right ventricle in Acute Inferior Wall M.I.
2. Incidence of Peptic Ulcer in patients of Chronic Liver
Disease
3. Etiology of Acute Renal Failure.

Medical
Unit-IV DHO Hospital Faisalabad is the part of Department of
Medicine, Punjab Medical College, Faisalabad. It is teaching
unit comprising of two wards flaying 86 beds consisting of:
1. Medical
lCU
2. Medical
Emergency
3. Endoscopy Unit
4.
Ultrasound Suit
M-U-IV
bears heavy work load, deals seven days emergency & six days out
patient a week. All the Medico legal & Invalidity Boards, visit
to both Jails of Faisalabad, medical cover to all the VIPs
visiting Faisalabad Division & Public Gatherings is provided by
this unit. Medicines & equipments are provided by the DHQ
Hospital for the admitted patients.

Clinico-pathological
Conferences & mortality conferences are being held regularly in
the ward along.witl1 teaching & training programme for
undergraduates & postgraduates. The teaching staff is regularly
involved academic activities both in the PMC & CPSP. There are
eight PG-trainees in the unit, actively involved in teaching &
research activities. The teaching members are:

Hepatology
2. Dr. Mahboob Alam-FCPS, S.R. Particular interest in Cardiology &
Endocrinology
