Obstetrics & Gynecology Department
consists of three separate units.

GYNECOLOGY & OBSTETRICS UNIT I
& II |
The
department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology Unit I is working in Allied
Hospital, Faisalabad. It is headed by Professor Mahmood Aleem.
Dr. Naila Yasmin, Dr. Shazia Shaheen, Dr. Shagufta Javid & Dr.
Shaista Talib are working as Senior Registrar. There are 23
postgraduate trainees and 10 house officers in the unit. There
are 56 beds in the ward. Both units are actively involved in
teaching & training of under and post graduates. There is a well
furnished class room for discussions and medical presentation in
each Unit.
There is a
labour ward which is common for Unit-I & II. There is a first
stage with 8 beds and an eclampsia room with 6 beds. There are 4
delivery rooms equipped with central O supply and suction
facilities. For fetal surveillance, CTG & ultrasound machines
are available.
There are
four operation theatres with all the facilities of pulse
oximetry, central O and nitrous supply and other necessary
equipments. There are laproscope, colposcope and hysteroscope.
Both the units cover emergency on alternate days. The OPD works
six days a week with a consultant providing daily cover.

Obstetrics
and Gynaecology Unit-III is situated at DHO Hospital,
Faisalabad. It is headed by Professor Tayyaba Waseem graduated
from Allama Iqbal Medical College Lahore. She has special
Interest in Reproductive Health. Dr. Robina Ali is working as Assistant Professor Dr. Shaista Nagra
and Dr. Farida Sardar are District Gynaecologist. There are 10
Postgraduate trainees and 8 house officers working in the Unit.
The indoor department has 60 beds divided into 3 sections, the
Gynaecology, antenatal & postnatal wards.
Its an over
burden department handling patients more than its capacity.
It’s a
tertiary care hospital receiving emergencies daily. Details of
patients deal per year in gynae & obs. Unit(july2007 to
july2008) is as follows:-

It consist of
three separate ward. One is designated for Antenatal, other for
gynae patients & one for post-natal patients. Labour room is
fully equipped with fetal monitoring facilities round the clock
& resident doctors are present to provide assistance, whenever
required under cover of consultants.

There are
separate area in labour ward for 1st stage of labour,
Elampsia room, Delivery suites, Emergensy theatre having
functional three tables and U.S.G & C.T.G machines are also
available for intrapartum monitoring whenever required.
Gynae/obs.
Operation theatre is an independent theatre with three
functioning tables & one separate theatre for HBv & HCV+IVE
Patient having two tables.
All types of
instruments are available for minor & major operations. There
are facilities for endoscopy i.e laproscopy & hysteroscopy.
