Department consists of teaching areas like an autopsy section, a Biological Laboratory & a museum. In biological Laboratory the students are taught practical methods of examinations of medico legally important blood fluids such as blood, semen and saliva etc. Museum is very important teaching area in which students observe hundreds of specimens of different nature concerning Toxicology, Traumatology, Thanatology and other Pathological conditions.

The Autopsy Section of the Department is situated in the premises of Allied Hospital. All the Post Mortem Examinations of Faisalabad city are conducted in this section. The Autopsy Section started working in November, 1996. Since then more than 3000 post Motem Examinations have been conducted.

Causalty Departrments of DHO & Allied Hospital, PMC Faisalabad were given under supervision of Forensic Medicine Department in the start of year 1999. Cases of trauma, intoxication and sexual assaults are examined by CMOs/WMOs on duty and medico legal certificates are also issued.

Department is also collaborating with Medical Unit-II Allied Hospital regarding the working of Provincial Poison Control Center with the technical assistance of Ministry of Health & WHO.

In addition to the teaching of the undergraduate medical students the Department of Forennsic Medicine also organizes training programs for Medical Officer/Women Medical Officers from Faisalabad to improve the. standard of medicolegal work.

Dr. Ahmad Saeed is head of the department, Dr. Khurram Sohail Raja is District Medicolegal Officer, Incharge of the teaching program and coordinator for Provincial Poison Control Center. Dr. Altaf Pervez Oasim is the Incharge of Post Mortem Unit and Incharge of the COD Allied Hospital Faisalabad, Dr. Arshad Masood is Incharge of the COD, DHO Hospital, Faisalabad.
