Convocation is always a significant milestone in the developmental history of any Education Institute. Whereas it provides us an occasion of joy and satisfaction, it is also a moment of thought and recollection to reflect upon our performance to plan for the future. This is equally true for the Graduating Doctors, as well as for the institution.Such occasions stand for the fruit harvesting festivals. It is a day of celebration and pleasure. A student works hard for five years to see this day. Their kind hearted teachers have put forth their best efforts to prepare these young ladies and gentlemen for relieving pains and miseries of human beings. It is indeed a memorable occasion for the faculty members, teaching staff and specially the passing out graduates. This Occasion is beginning of long career ahead for the graduates. On the 5th Convocation of PMC, many worthy personalities of Pakistan including health sector sent messages of appreciation to the Principal and Faculty members of Punjab Medical College. They also encouraged the young graduates for their future life.

Message from Mr. Shaukat Aziz (Prime Minister) I am pleased to greet the PMC on its 5th Convocation, and send a message of good wishes to the staff members and the students on this happy occasion. Members of the medical profession have been held in high esteem in every society since time immemorial. In Pakistan today, they are highly the revered and respected. This is due to the important role that Doctors play because of the lack of complete health covers for the risk and the suffering. The young graduates who are to receive their degrees today have a special responsibility in this regard. Those who hail from rural areas have an additional obligation to go back and serve the people of their area. We in the Govt. have undertaken to provide these doctor with the necessary infra structure so that they can make quality care available to their patients. I hope that they will help the community in this endeavor. I wish the young graduates all the best in their future life

Medical profession has always been held in high esteem in every society. This is primarily because its parishioners are regarded as individuals who are imbued with a profound sense of selfless commitment to alleviate human sufferings. I would like to remind all those who have earned their professional degrees today that they have a special responsibility towards the society to provide adequate health care to the population. This responsibility is greater towards those who are less advantaged and live in the rural areas.
