4th Yr
CLASS FUNCTION
Report by
Nafeesa Ehsan
Academics go hand in
hand with extra-curricular activities. These ventures off the
usual course are not only healthy but very much welcome to all
concerned. In the light of the above fact, 4th Year
Class Function was held on 15th May, 2009 in PMC
Auditorium. The function was attended by an overwhelming majority
of girls and quite a scanty of number of boys which in itself is
quite an interesting happening. The function was attended by Prof.
Dr. Riaz Hussain (Principal PMC), Prof. Dr. Janbaz Ahmed (Head of
Pathology Dept.), Prof. Dr. M. Sultan (Head of Ophthalmology
Dept.). Prof. Dr. Farooq Ahmed Mian (Head of ENT) and Dr. Imtiaz A
Dogar (Head of Psychiatry Dept. & Behavioral Sciences). The
honorable guests graced the gathering with their auspicious
presence.
Kudos to Dr. Whats who
decorated the stage. Our asymmetrical stage for once showed symmetry
actually. A soul rending recitation by M. Saeed, Hamd by Farhan Nadeem and
Naat by Misbah Munshi was the right beginning of the function. This was
followed by a skit by BJZ, which evoked a lukewarm response by the audience
followed by; “COMPLICATED” (Avril-lavigne) sung by Nafeesa Ehsan. It
delighted the hearts of certain people but failed to impress the singer who
maintains, she could have done better. The highlight of the function were
the videos exhibited by AsteriX, BJZ and Meraj and friends. All of them were
well above the average standards, hilarious, perky and won an applauding and
highly amused audience, though all were teary eyed with laughter by the end.
The “QAWALI” by Dr. Whats in which history and present of our batch was
described with perfectly delivered parodies, got huge appreciation by all
the audience. Then came an awesome rendition of Jason’s Marz’s “I AM URS” by
vocalist Taimoor Anwar and guitarist Zain-ur-Rehman which brought a romantic
nostalgia over the audience and a throat tearing shouts of appraisal at the
end. “The TITLES” came next and they were as explosive, highly
controversial, shockingly off base as always. In the end the Principal PMC,
said a few words for the benefit of all involved. The address went well and
the Principal appreciated the organizers for their efforts, commended the
performers and with his words encouraged more students to participate in
such activities. The function ended with rounds of soft drinks and burgers
from fast food joint. The part enjoyed by most not-involved in the event was
perhaps the class snapshot in the end. What with the hustle and bustle of
who would stand where, in the end female students honored by the male
students were given the opportunity to sit while the male students stood. 5
to 6 tries of the photographer at taking the snap but failing each
time...the 4th Year Class of 2005-10 was finally captured in a
photograph frozen, with the determined will to enjoy at all costs, into
eternity.
May ALLAH bless us all
