Report of
Medical Camp at Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Bhawana, District
Chiniot
Punjab
Medical College, Faisalabad planned and conducted a free medical
camp Tehsil Hospital Bhawana, District Chiniot on 4th
May, 2011 from 10AM to 2PM.
The place of
camp was selected after consultation with District Coordination
Officer, Chiniot and Executive District Officer, Health, Chiniot.
Both officers assisted by their subordinate officers including
DOH, DDOH, MS THQ, Assistant Commissioner and Tehsildar, Bhawana
played an active role in advertising campaign and arrangement of
the camp.
The
Consultants team from PMC was headed by Prof. Dr. Riaz Hussain,
Principal, PMC. Director, Medical Education, Dr. Musarrat ul
Hasnain and Director security Col.(r) Muhammad Khan accompanied
the group. 58 Medical Students (Male and Female) from Final year
and Fourth year classes were selected to assist the consultants
in medical treatment. This was part of the Community Health care
training of the students, which, is considered as essential in
the modern medical education. Following consultants from Allied
Hospital and Divisional Headquarters teaching hospital attended
the patients of their respective specialties.

patients were examined and free medicines were provided to all
the patients. Students were attached with the consultants to
observe and assist them in management of the cases.
District
Coordination Officer and District Police Officer, Chiniot not
only provided with arrangements and security for the camp, but,
attended the camp personally spending good time with patients,
consultants and students. The camp was followed by one dish
lunch for the whole team and this was arranged by kind courtesy
of DCO, Chiniot. Every task was very well organized and there
occurred no untoward incident or conflict.
After the
camp students were taken to River Chenab Bank near Chiniot with
all the necessary security measures provided by DPO, Chiniot.
Refreshment on the way was provided by the Principal Punjab
Medical College, Faisalabad.
