AVATAR IS NOT A SCIENCE FICTION BUT RELATED TO OUR WORLD

by Awais Saeed Abbasi Final Year

Avatar is the story of a man with an amputated leg and how he manages to go on another planet in place of his dead brother and becomes a part of a disguised project. They were told that they are there to study the nature of the creatures residing over there, but the main aim of the policy makers was different. They wanted to learn to communicate with those creatures and this way they could get hold of the land that had a very precious stone buried under that place. The story takes a turn when the hero comes to know of the intentions of those policy makers and becomes a part of those creatures and as he knows about the power possessed by Humans, he becomes a great threat to them and those policy makers try their level best to kill the hero along with all those creatures just for the sake of wealth.

The story is the story of fight between good and bad, right and wrong. This story is exactly related to the happenings of today’s world. Same scenario is taking place here. For the sake of money people are killing one other. No relation is considered above money to certain group of people. In today’s world we see quite often that for the sake of building plazas and shopping malls, mafia threaten people and when they don’t act upon their wills, they don’t hesitate killing them. In Avatar, for the sake of attainment of precious stones which are worth huge sum of money, the policy makers try all means possible to get their land and when they are not willing to give their land, force is used. But in the battle between good and bad, good always win. When the oppression crosses limits, divine forces intervene and the result is a new start. In Avatar when the cruelty of those wrong policy makers crosses the limit, divine forces come into play and crush the oppressors.

Human history is full of examples in which the oppressors have always been overruled and are know to have been remembered by bad names. In Islamic history, when the brutality of Yazid-bin-mawiya, Sulman and Waleed grew out of control, reign was given to Hazrat Abdullah Bin Abdul-Aziz and by the will of ALLAH, in just two and a half years, the whole empire witnessed a brand new change in the form of multiple reforms and the result was a developed place.

The story of Avatar focuses on the good deeds of hero and his companions and gives us a lesson that no matter how unfairness and brutality happens, you never loose hope and always stand against evil as in the end, good deeds get the reward and punishment gets vested to the oppressors.

Avatar gives us a lesson of Faith, Unity and Discipline. The hero had faith, he united those creatures and disciplined planning and action against those oppressors taught them a lesson in the form of defeat.

It tells us that no matter how much advanced we are, no matter how much technology we use, there is always a superior power that is supreme. And without having faith nothing can be achieved.

In short all the aspects of the movie clearly show that this movie is exactly related to today’s world and gives a lesson to those non believers that if they kept on making their own rules, if they kept on oppressing people, if they did everything for the sake of wealth and let selfishness prevail and tried to make a materialistic world lacking values and respect; doom will be their fate.
