Foundation Day 2008

On the evening of 18th March 2008, an annual dinner was hoisted by the principal of PMC to mark the occasion of the foundation day of college. Students from final year, several enthusiastic alumni and teachers gathered to celebrate the 34th anniversary of Punjab medical college

The well lit lawn with auditorium in the background, cool breeze blowing and smartly dressed students buzzing around full of energy gave a festive look.

The function started with recitation of Holy Quran by Muhammad Ali of final year, followed my Naat by Tafseel of final year. Then the host of the evening, Dr. Javaid Iqbal head of surgical unit IV gave an introduction of establishment of PMC and how alumni around the globe feel pride in being a part of this prestigious institute. Following the introductory speech was an astounding performance by PAC ( THE PERFORMING ARTS CLUB). The performance highlighted the era of various principals, starting from the first to the currents principal Dr. Asghar Ali Randhawa. Various memorable events were shown from their respective eras in a video made in a very professional way by members of NETIZENS under PAC. The awesome act, a brand new idea and good narration of events made this performance the main highlight of the night. Pac and the efforts of the involved students was highly appreciated by the teachers and students attending the function.

Then the principal was invited on the stage to express his views. He warm heartedly welcomed all the alumni and guests. He announced that from now onwards the foundation day would be celebrated each year on 18th of March every year. He also appreciated all the positive feedback he was receiving from all the students helping him make PMC a better place for students. He also told that air-conditioned reading rooms will be constructed in boys and girls hostels to facilitate the students and that the mess committee has been established to maintain a good standard of mess.
