ENT Department
first started in DHQ Hospital in May, 1974. The Department was
shifted to Allied Hospital in 1996. Since then the Department
is working under Allied Hospital Faisalabad.
The
Department of ENT-II was established at Allied Hosptial,
Faisalabad in February 2000 after the bifurcation of ENT
Department into ENT Unit-I & II Prof. Dr. Syed Muhammad Ali
Tirmizi took the charge of Professor and Head of the unit. The
Department consists of Professor, Senior Registrar, four
Registrars and four house officers.
Two
registrars are under training for FCPS-II in ENT. One post of
Associate Professor is lying vacant. The department consists of
24 beds. There are two operation days and two consultants
'outpatients' clinics. The unit provides 24 hours emergency
cover on alternate days. On an average the Department is
operating 80 patients as cold cases every month. The Department
is recognized for post-graduate training like MCPS & FCPS. Two
registrars have already done FCPS-II in ENT from this unit.
Research is being done in Mastoid surgery, Rhinoplasty and
oncology. Four original research papers were presented in the
19th National Conference by Pakistan Society of Otolaryngology
and head and neck surgery in November, 2006.
